Many students from The Skinners’ School go straight to university once they have completed their sixth-form studies. However, a number of students also choose to take a gap year before continuing their studies. Students going on to higher education study a wide range of subjects, many within centres of excellence in prominent universities. Careers support and guidance are given to assist students with the university application process. In 2012, 91% of students succeeded in gaining entry onto their first choice university course.
In 2012, Skinners’ students achieved very good results at A level with 79.8% of students achieving A*, A and B grades. At GCSE the vast majority of candidates achieved very good grades, with 67.9% of grades being at A* or A. The overall GCSE pass rate (5 A*-C) was 100%.
