academic success

Many students from The Skinners’ School go straight to university once they have completed their sixth-form studies. However, a number of students also choose to take a gap year before continuing their studies. Students going on to higher education study a wide range of subjects, many within centres of excellence in prominent universities. Careers support and guidance are given to assist students with the university application process. The vast majority of students achieve the grades necessary for their first choice university.

Opening 'the envelope' on results day 2009

In 2009, Skinners’ students achieved excellent results at A level with 76.5% of students achieving A and B grades. At GCSE the vast majority of candidates achieved excellent grades, with 77.9% of grades being at A* or A. The overall GCSE pass rate (5 A*-C) was 100%. The introduction of GCSE triple science in Year 9 for all pupils has been a great success. These are record results for the school and we are proud of the achievements of the pupils.
