How to Get Here by Rail

Directions to get to The Skinners' School are as follows. You may also view a large location map or download a PDF containing directions and a map.

The nearest railway stations are Tunbridge Wells and High Brooms. Both stations are on the London (Charing Cross) to Ramsgate/Hastings service and run a fast service. The approximate journey time to London is 50 minutes.

How to Get Here by Road

From London (distance 38 miles)

Join the south bound A21 (Junction 5 of the M25, signposted for Sevenoaks) and leave at the junction marked A26 Southborough/Tunbridge Wells. Go up the slip road and keep straight on towards Southborough. Keep on this road (A26) and go through Southborough; if travelling to Southfields Park then at the main set of traffic lights turn left into Yew Tree Road and then first right into Chestnut Avenue, follow the road round until you see the entrance to the sports fields. For the main school site, keep going straight along the A26 (London Road) into Tunbridge Wells for about a mile, the entrance to the school will be on the left immediately following the left turn into Somerset Road.

From Maidstone (distance 19 miles)

If travelling on the A26, follow the signs for Tonbridge and then for Southborough, then follow directions as for London. If travelling on A228 follow into Tunbridge Wells on A264 (then follow directions as per Hastings)

From Hastings (distance 30 miles)

Follow the north bound A21, leave at the junction signposted A264 Tunbridge Wells/Pembury. Go up the slip road and turn right at the roundabout onto the A264 Pembury Road towards Tunbridge Wells. Turn right into Sandhurst Road (middle filter lane, signposted for High Brooms industrial estates), follow the road until you eventually go under a railway bridge and reach a mini-roundabout. Turn left onto Upper Grosvenor Road, follow this road until you reach a T-junction/traffic lights, turn right onto Dunstan Road, then take the third left (cross-roads) onto Queens Road. At the end of Queens Road turn right onto A26 St John’s Road. Skinners’ can be found about 400 metres on the right, opposite Freeway tyre centre.

For Southfields Park (Games fixtures) continue past the school towards Southborough on St John’s Road, past the Cross Keys PH. At the first set of traffic lights (Speldhurst Road) go straight on and then right at the next set of traffic lights onto Yew Tree Road and then first right into Chestnut Avenue, follow the road round until you see the entrance to the sports fields.

From East Grinstead (distance 14 miles)

Take the A264 towards Tunbridge Wells for about 10 miles. Once through Ashurst continue straight on until you reach a T-junction, turn left towards Langton Green. Continue straight on the A264 into Tunbridge Wells for about 3 miles (Langton Road/Bishops Down/Mount Ephraim). At the T-junction (Mount Ephraim) go straight ahead, passing the Kent & Sussex hospital on your left. At the next roundabout turn left onto St John’s Road. Skinners’ can be found about ¾ mile further on the right, opposite Freeway tyre centre.

For Southfields Park (Games fixtures) continue past the school towards Southborough on St John’s Road, past the Cross Keys PH.
