Exam Invigilators – Summer 2017

The Skinners’ School is looking to recruit Exam Invigilators for the May/June Summer 2017 examinations session. There may be other occasions throughout the year when invigilators are also required. All training will be provided and previous experience is not required.

The main purpose of this role is to provide practical support and assistance to the Examinations Officer and the Senior Invigilator to ensure the smooth day to day operation of exam venues and full compliance with all exam board procedures.

This work is occasional, part-time and paid on an hourly rate of £10 an hour. The hours will vary between 8.30am and 5.00pm.

Invigilators need to be reliable and discreet, flexible and observant. They need to be able to show understanding and relate to learners, as well as to maintain authority and remain calm under pressure or in unexpected circumstances. Close attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and accurately at all times are essential. Invigilators also need to be able to work as part of a team, possess good interpersonal skills and be able to follow all instructions including those set by the exam boards.

All successful candidates will be subject a DBS check prior to appointment and will need to undertake our specific safeguarding training.
