The Livery Entrepreneurs Challenge
Back
Year 12 Business students took part in The Livery Entrepreneurs Challenge last Friday, an event organised by the Skinners’ Academies Trust in conjunction with Tonbridge School. In total there were 14 teams from a number of different schools including Tonbridge School, Skinners’ Academy and The Marsh Academy. The students used a simulation utilised by leading business schools which provided an immersive, real-world experience. They had to run their own phone company and were scored on customer satisfaction, employee retention, use of social media and profitability. It was a very tightly contested competition with the lead changing hands multiple times over the 4 rounds. The Skinners’ School Business Team won the competition in the fourth round with highest points total on the balanced score card which took into account all the success criteria. The students all enjoyed the day immensely and gained a lot in terms of teams working skills, data analysis skills and how to make effective decisions under pressure.
