Inter House University Challenge Heats
BackThis year’s Inter House University Challenge competition delivered all the quick-thinking, quick-finger, academic and trivia rivalry Skinners' has come to expect. Two standout teams of Y13 students have secured their places in the school final next term: Sebastian and Hunt. Sebastian’s team (Leo Stanbury, Kitt Smith, Sam Smialowski, Harry Phillips, and Harvey Mahon) showed remarkable breadth of knowledge and quick reflexes throughout the rounds. Going up against them in the final are Hunt’s equally formidable competitors (Isaac Konieczny, Freddie Finch, Lewis Burr, and Tom Halfhide) whose consistent accuracy and deductive thinking proved decisive.
When asked about their favourite questions from the heats, competitors highlighted those on “flags associated with cities” and “Homer’s dog, Argos, from the Odyssey.” These were swiftly followed by a less specific, but relatable answer: “any of the questions we got right.”
The school grand final next term promises a contest between two well‑matched and talented teams. Following the event, a Skinners' super‑team will be selected to represent the school in the West Kent interschool finals, where they will take on some of the brightest quiz teams in the region. Best of luck to both teams as they prepare for the showdown!
