CCF recruits weekend

Over the weekend the new recruits spent their first weekend away with the CCF at St Martins Camp in Folkestone. It was a jammed packed couple of days with the recruits being taught fieldcraft skills. On Saturday morning the instructors delivered the theory side to: first aid, map reading and cooking in the field.  In the afternoon they put it all into practice by conducting a casualty scenario with stretcher race, a navigation exercise finding 5 checkpoints and individual tactical movement.  

Once it was dark the cadets were lucky to get their hands on night vision googles and thermal sights which were kindly brought down by Maj Philips from his unit. 

The Sunday morning saw the cadets conduct a force-on-force exercise in teams with the laser weapons in the Forward Operating Base trying to eliminate the other team to win.
