Raquet sports

At Skinners' four main Racquet Sports are played, taking place throughout the year. These are Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis and Tennis. In all four of these sports there are multiple County and National events that Skinners' enters. Alongside this, House sport is on offer for all age groups at the school for Badminton, Table Tennis and Tennis. Extra-curricular clubs take place for Badminton in term 1, Table Tennis in term 2 and Tennis in term 3.

Badminton has seen success in the last few years with KS3, KS4 and KS5 students competing in school competitions and fixtures. Skinners' has been crowned Kent County Champions at KS3 in 2024 and at KS4 in 2025 & 2026. Both our KS4 and KS5 won the inaugural 2025 Kent Schools Badminton league. In 2025 our KS4 team performed excellently to finish runners-up in the School Sport Magazine National Cup. No mean feat with over 100 schools entering the competition.

Skinners' Squash competes in both KS3 and KS4 in the National Cup. Here success has been seen with qualification to Round 2 in 2025 and 2026. Our KS3 team secured runners-up finish in the 2024 National Plate Final. Friendlies also take place versus Sevenoaks throughout the academic year for any boys wishing to participate in Squash.

Skinners' offers competitive Table Tennis for U13 and U16 students. The schools enter into both the U13 and U16 Individual and Team Kent County Championship every year. In 2025, the U13 team was crowned Kent County Champions. Our Table Tennis lunchtime club is well attended and sees a high number of students participating in the sport.

Skinners' Tennis programme runs at U13, U15 and U18 levels. The school enters into all LTA events run at these age-grades. U13 and U15 teams compete in the LTA summer school leagues with both U13 and U15 teams progressing to the County Finals day in 2024 & 2025. Our U18 team competes in the winter league alongside the Glanville National Cup each year. Furthermore, all teams compete in the U13, U15 & U18 Kent Doubles Championship. Skinners' has seen success in this event with our U18 pair being crowned champions in 2025. In the summer term, training is held for all players in these squads twice a week, with an additional U12 only club running once a week for anyone in Year 7 wanting to experience Tennis.
