House Sport

Every student and member of staff is assigned a House during their time at Skinners’. Naturally, this leads to healthy competition between each House through sport. Our House Sport programme provides sporting opportunities for all students, in a slightly more relaxed environment compared to the fixtures we have against other schools. To ensure as many students get the opportunity to participate in our House Sport programme, it is common to run two or three competitions in each age group for each sport.  Many of our House Sport competitions take place during Games afternoons or lunchtimes, depending on the nature of the activity.

In March, we host our annual House Swimming Gala at a local leisure centre. All students are given the opportunity to take part in this event. Our Whole School Sports Day in July, hosted at Southfields, is a fantastic way to finish off our House Sport programme. Students compete in a range of track and field events, and the Tug of War finals. Parents and spectators are more than welcome to attend both events.

Recent House Sport results and standings are announced in Whole School assemblies and published in the weekly Sport Bulletin.
